When running a website, figuring out what brought people to your site or what kind of content they like to see is crucial, but for many people it remains more of a guessing game than a science. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are many web analytics solutions out there that can help you track traffic, sales and search engine optimization all in one place. In order to help you find the right one for you TopTenREVIEWS has reviewed the best web analytics packages out there.

The TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award went to Coremetrics because it had a wonderful combination of features and reporting options that allow you to find all the relevant data. Coremetrics tracks just about anything you can think of and puts the information in simple reports that can be exported to many different file types. But in addition to a fully-featured product, Coremetrics also provides some of the best customer service in the business. Coremetrics works closely with customers to implement their program on a website and get all the relevant statistics a customer wants to see. Read full review.

Coming in a close second was Omniture. Omniture won the TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award because it is also fully-featured. But the most impressive feature of Omniture is the breadth of their offering. Omniture doesn’t just track stats; they also offer many other services that can help you maximize sales and return on investment. And Omniture also understands the growing importance of tracking mobile browsing because so many people are accessing the internet on smartphones and other mobile devices. Read full review.

The TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award went to WebTrends in part because of their reporting system, which offers a wide range of optimization tools, but also because the company is 100 percent compliant with Web Analytics Association guidelines. WebTrends is also interesting because of a feature called Story Mode that presents your data in a narrative format that is much easier to read and understand than the standard list of statistics. Logaholic Web Analytics can easily compete with the functionality and features of Web Trends, especially because we offer all of these for a fraction of the price. The equivalent of the Story mode in Logaholic is the Trends overview chart. In Logaholic you can also make Notes of certain events in your campaign so that later they will be integrated in your Trends reports. This allows you to link changes in traffic to certain events, such as starting to advertise on a new website, adding a keyword, etc. Logaholic is also a member of the WAA.
